A chauffeur guide is the standard way to travel Sri Lanka: a driver who is also your first point of local knowledge - where to eat, when to arrive, what is worth the entrance fee and what is not. The difference between a good trip and an average one here is almost entirely the person driving, which is why we are careful about who we put in the car.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and are confirmed in writing before you travel. Fuel, expressway tolls and government taxes are included.
What "authorised" means
Sri Lanka licenses chauffeur guides separately from ordinary drivers - the qualification covers tourism knowledge and language competence as well as driving. Our drivers hold that authorisation. It is worth checking with any operator you compare us against, because plenty of cheap quotes involve a driver with no tourism licence at all.

All of our drivers speak fluent English. We work regularly with German, French, Italian and Dutch-speaking visitors, and can arrange a language-specific guide alongside your driver where that matters - tell us at the enquiry stage rather than after arrival.
