The Sigiriya frescoes, which are a reflection of Sri Lankan art, and the Sigiriya graffiti, which are carved into the rock, have made Sigiriya a world-renowned site. Sigiriya was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

Dambulla
Considered the center of Sri Lankan Buddhist art and sculpture, this cave temple is located 3 km from Dambulla town in Matale district, Central Province.
